Why We Started Nano Planet

It all started during the pandemic.

The world had stopped — schools were closed, playgrounds were empty, and the laughter of kids had gone silent. Like every parent, I was just trying to keep my son safe and happy. But as days turned into weeks, I began to see something that broke my heart: my son, Nano, spending more and more time staring at a screen. He wasn’t alone — millions of kids were doing the same.

The screen became their classroom, their playground, their window to the world. But it also became a wall — one that slowly separated them from the real one.

Then, one afternoon, I remembered we had a small pickleball court in our neighborhood. I didn’t know much about the game, but I knew we both needed air, movement, and sunlight. So, I grabbed two paddles and said, “Let’s go hit a few balls.”

That first game changed everything. After just a few rallies, something in him lit up — laughter, joy, competition, life. And something in me woke up too. I wasn’t watching my son through a screen anymore — I was playing next to him. That day, Nano and I didn’t just play a new sport. We found a new way to connect.

And that’s how Nano Planet was born.

It didn’t start as a company. It started as a moment — a father and a son, rediscovering the power of play when the world had forgotten it.

From that moment, I knew I wanted more families to experience what we did — to put the screens aside and come back to each other through the simplest act in the world: playing together. Pickleball became the bridge. It doesn’t matter your age, strength, or background — on the court, everyone belongs. You can see it in the smiles, in the laughter, in the way kids and parents high-five after a point.

Now, Nano Planet is growing into a movement — one that brings families, kids, communities, and even brands together to rebuild something we lost: real human connection.

Because play isn’t just fun — it’s healing. It’s how we rebuild childhood. It’s how we rebuild community. It’s how we rebuild us.

That’s why we started Nano Planet.

Because one game changed everything.
